Love the Maitland Woods! Brings me back to tromping around in the forest as a kid. The woods are in a low lying area, so if it's been raining a lot expect mud and to get wet. Great place to see the native forest through the seasons, from spring ephemerals like trillium, to jack in the pulpit and other summer shade flowers. There are a variety of branches so you can tailor the length of your trip to how much time you have, or take multiple loops for a longer walk.

Convenient to get to and park. Well maintained and nice to have cut-back options. Most of the forest is not very mature and a lot of dead Ash trees from the Ash Bore. A little muddy in October but whoever maintains the trail (thank you btw) are doing a nice job creating boardwalks. I wouldn’t call it wilderness but still a nice nature experience. Great if you live in Goderich to have a trail essentially right in town.

Always a lovely place! We took a group of 10 kids out today, all enjoyed themselves and exerted lots of energy!

The only downside is that there are so many irresponsible dog owners who do not clean up after their pets. I wish people would consider the impact their neglect has on everyone else who uses the trail system. Obviously this is no fault of those who maintain the trails.

This was an awesome trail to walk on. I did notice some of the bridges were replaced, but there are still more that need to be fixed up. It looks like they are still working in this, because I saw some new bridge sections piled up on the side of the trail. Some additional markings at the trail junctions would be nice. Some of the junctions were missing the markers to show which one was the white trail and which one was the blue trail. Overall this is a very nice trail and would walk it again.
