Elodie was a fun, kind, and knowledgeable tour guide who took a varied group of Cezanne and nature lovers through a special hike where Cezanne himself walked and painted some of his most iconic landscapes, Montagne Sainte-Victoire and Bibemus Quarries. The picnic at the quarry overlooking the lavender fields and rosemary bushes and the mountain peak was unforgettable. I learned so much about Cezanne’s journey and it was amazing to go the spots where he took inspiration from. Thank you so much Elodie for the wonderful experience!

We only had one full day in Aix-en-Provence, and we were fortunate that our hotel Villa Gallici connected us with Elodie from Zen Road for a walking tour of the nearby hills. We had an absolutely magnificent day.

We followed the same paths that Cézanne once walked and took in the rock formations and vistas he famously painted. Elodie was incredibly knowledgeable about Cézanne and his circle, and she shared fascinating insights that brought the landscape—and the art—to life. Her knowledge extended to the local flora as well, which added an unexpected and delightful depth to the experience.

We cannot say enough good things about this afternoon tour. Elodie surprised us with a simple but elegant picnic lunch in the hills, including fresh fruits we had never tasted, hand-picked from her grandmother’s garden. It was thoughtful, personal, and unforgettable.

We ended the day in the charming town square of Le Tholonet, sipping homemade peach tea in the gentle afternoon breeze—a perfect conclusion to a perfect outing. This was exactly the day we sought in Provence, including finishing by Lavender fields in early bloom!

Elodie is a sweet, thoughtful, and passionate guide who went above and beyond to make our day special. We highly recommend Elodie and Zen Road for any excursions in the Aix-en-Provence area.

Thank you Elodie for such an informative time at the Bibémus Quarry. I have studied Cézanne's paintings for many years but to actually stand where he painted and to experience the landscape in person greatly deepened my understanding. I spent a fantastic Sunday in the calanques doing the yoga hike 🧘‍♀️🌊 Everyone in the group was really well taken care of by Elodie and we learned a lot about the different plants, wildlife and legends while walking in the calanques. It was also the perfect setting for a full yoga lesson and relaxation session led by a yoga teacher. I finished the day with a big smile on my face! ✨

Enjoyed the experience of walking in the footsteps of Cezanne with plein air painting of Mount Victoire the walk up to the vantage point was steep but it didn’t last long and was worth it to get to the vantage point … friendly and helpful well prepared and knowledgeable

Nous n'avons pas tellement apprécié payer 90€ (pour 2) pour une promenade de 2 heures sur le plateau de Bibémus, visite que je croyais organisée par l'office de tourisme d'Aix, sur les pas de Cézanne. En fait, de Cézanne on nous en a parlé très peu. La guide n'était pas à la hauteur sur ce plan, on nous a conduits jusqu'à un sculpteur qui vendait ses œuvres (fort cher) et faisait une petite initiation pour ceux qui voulaient prendre les outils en main. Mais à la fin de la visite, la guide n'a pas oublié de nous mettre en main la publicité pour ses autres "visites" ! Non, merci bien !
